On June 12, 1972, Father William McKay was named Pastor of a new parish in East Mesa. Bishop McCarthy approved the name of All Saints in September, 1972. Early Masses were held in the Velda Rose Motel, Farnsworth Hall, Father McKay's home chapel, and Melcer's Mission Chapel before the first Mass was celebrated in the new church on October 26, 1974. The dedication and blessing by Bishop McCarthy followed on February 23, 1975. The hall and parking spaces were added in 1975. In 1978, All Saints parish was divided and Holy Cross was established. In 1982, for the 10th Anniversary, Bishop O'Brien joined in the burning of the mortgage. Bishops Hall was added a few years later. Father McKay retired in 1995 and Father Robert Caruso became the second Pastor of All Saints. Due to the needs of the growing community in East Mesa, Father Caruso began working with the Diocese of Phoenix to build a larger church for the parish. In 2004, Bishop O'Brien granted permission for the construction of a new chuch on the property. The groundbreaking is currently scheduled for the Fall 2009.
